What should MTV NOW from our point of view?

MTV NOW should connect the younger generation from the Netherlands and show them what’s happening around them.

Cool events, new local musicians (maybe MTV Now can give this musicians a platform).

Shows insights and new stuff (trends, content) before anyone else know about it.

Mapping of search results on Google. Deciding the methodology of data analysis based on the search results.

Data retrieving from Youtube, Facebook and Instagram. Analytics tools such as Keyhole, Google Trends and Google Scraper Clouds, social mentions and content from MTV were used. Furthermore, accounts of the MTV ambassador Koen Kardashian were analysed.

Website and mobile flow analysis and data analysis based on specific literature.

Collection of all the content that we want to indicate for Facebook and Instagram posts that lead to some suggestions in order to improve the engagement and traffic for MTV-NOW


In general

- Motivate the community to get in touch with MTV NOW on different social media platforms. Posts regarding MTV s upcoming events for the weekend, encouraging community members to post their own MTV NOW moment afterwards on instagram with #mtvnow.

- Act local. Present uprising local musicians, upcoming events, local hot places and local news.

- Use the following platforms for MTV NOW. Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Official Website MTV.nl → Create a Youtube channel for MTV Netherlands where you can upload the videos of Koen Kardashian and other videos for the user community (local news, events, artists, places and etc).

- Try to link with one post to another platform at least. e.g., Facebook post links to Instagram and/or Youtube. Posts such as “Want to see more/Want to stay tuned with us? Follow us on Instagram as well!”

- Establish regular formats for MTV NOW. e.g., post new artists on Fridays, post new music on Mondays - posting certain content on certain days or weeks

Partnerships/Sponsorships

- Create partnership with other websites based on co-link map. This will help MTV NL increase the traffic to their website.

- Create sponsorship with key-brands. If MTV NOW is linked to specific brands, this will increase the awareness and help reaching the target audience.

- Organise MTV NOW-related parties with local clubs. People can also engage with MTV NOW offline anywhere their community can interact.

Facebook

- Generate posts focusing on other content subcategories. Facebook analysis suggests other content subcategories for better effectiveness. Also, be more focused on Real and Unpredictable post contents in order to match with the MTV formula, as the brand marketing should also be a part of social media strategy.

- Involve the community (call-of-action posts): e.g. Post pictures or videos submitted by local users and let the community share their favorite places in the Netherlands as well. Make contests that users can win prizes such as tickets for upcoming events/shows. Also make awards which users can vote and award their favorite artists, places, songs and etc.

Instagram

- Instagram should not be substituting Youtube. Both of them should generate content regarding MTV NOW. Currently there is no video uploaded on Youtube regarding MTV NOW with Koen Kardashian.

- Users should be encouraged to use hashtags #mtvnow, #instafamous and #koenkardashian when creating content and interacting with MTV NOW, #INSTAFAMOUS, Koen Kardashian and etc. To engage with the target audience of MTV NL, it is needed to promote content creation (fan videos, live streaming on Instagram, Facebook or Youtube) using the aforementioned hashtags.

- Generate regular posts every week regarding #INSTAFAMOUS programme. Each one of them should include hashtags #instafamous, #mtvnow and #koenkardashian. Plus, link to MTV website using mtv.nl/now.

- Improve the speed of the website. Users are coming directly or via search to the MTV NL website. Faster speed would improve satisfaction of users.

- Share the playlist of the week with user community. Post on social media channels linking to the weekly playlist posted on website.
